LJILJAN is more than a brand.
It is a continuation.

Our story begins with courage — my mother’s.
She fled the war in Bosnia with my two sisters, just four and two years old, while pregnant with me. I was born in Rijeka, Croatia — a child of the diaspora before I ever took my first breath.

From Rijeka, to Houston in 2000, and eventually finding home in St. Louis in 2005, I watched my family rebuild everything from nothing. Through it all, they held tightly to who we were, so that I wouldn’t lose where I came from.

Now, as my husband and I raise our own children, the responsibility has shifted. I want them to know their roots — not as something distant or outdated, but as something present, confident, and alive. I want them to feel proud of who they are and where they come from, without needing to explain it.

LJILJAN was created because “souvenir shop” quality was never enough for the stories we carry. Our culture deserves better. It deserves pieces that feel intentional, modern, and built to last — pieces that honor our parents’ sacrifices and make the next generation proud to say, I am Bosnian.

To create clean, meaningful essentials that allow the Bosnian diaspora to represent their roots with confidence — wherever they live.

How Our Drops Work 

We release limited drops throughout the year. Once a drop ends, it may not return so if you see something you love, don’t wait.
